When you get married, don't forget to laugh
October 19th 2009 10:13
Sure, there's such a thing called the honeymoon period. It could last as long as the honeymoon (a couple of days?) or two years. Then the real groove kicks in. You start discovering things about your husband or wife that you used to find cute, but now ticks you off.
The going WILL get tough. But remember: There's no such thing as an argument-free marriage. You will fight over bills. You will be disappointed when you see an unwashed dish in the sink. You will cringe when you see the toilet seat up or the toilet seat down.
The little things will drive you nuts.
And so I hope you don't forget to laugh.
Laugh at the little things. Laugh at the mundane. Laugh with each other. See the good side of things and know that you can overcome anything as long as you're together, as long as you face challenges together.
Crack a smile. Laugh from the belly. Make each other grin. Make each other happy. Play. Explore. Be childlike. Giggle.
Never, ever forget to laugh.
