Father of the Bride

Even if he was neurotic and overprotective, George Banks (played by Steve Martin) in Father of the Bride was one of my favorite movie dads.
I wonder if all fathers feel this way when their daughters get married.
Will you be doing anything special with your dad on your wedding day? He's the man you grew up with, the man who somehow shaped your view of men in your life. If you have a good relationship with him, doing something extra special with him, for him, on your big day is thoughtful.
Traditionally, there's the father-daughter dance. There's also him walking you down the aisle. If there's anything else you can do to help ease his fears, that would be thoughtful. You could write him a letter, for example. Or have a one-on-one date with him before your big day. Or do something you've always done together, just the two of you. Like playing basketball, for George and Annie Banks.
And here's the ending of the film that still brings tears to my eyes.
