Adjusting Christmas traditions

It's your first Christmas as newlyweds. How are you celebrating it?
My tradition during my single days was to always spend the eve of Christmas with family. I've celebrated the eve of Christmas with family, no fail. No matter how tempting out-of-the-country trips were, I always had to be with my Dad, Mom and siblings. Christmas IS family.
When I got married, I worried. What if my husband's tradition was the same? What if he HAD to be with HIS family? I didn't want to be away from my side, what if he didn't want to be away from his side either? It would suck to spend Christmas apart.
Good thing it worked out well for us. What Christmas Eve meant to me, that's what Chrismas Day meant to him. The day itself was a must for his family. And so that's how we've been celebrating the holidays the past five years of our marriage. Eve with my side of the family, the day with his. It worked out great.
How about you? How did your Christmas plans adjust when you got married?
