181 things to do before getting married

There's an interesting article over at Groomstand on "181 Things to Do Before You Get Married." All from the groom's point of view. Interesting! My favorite items:

"9. Take a good long look at why you are getting married and be able to know why

17. If you haven't already, a guy might want to get going to a strip club out of his system in case the wife doesn't approve.

18. If you're sexually a bit curious, visit a gay bar to check out those feelings before taking the plunge.

56. Rethink if you really want to get married

80. Find the one woman in your life that meant the most to you before you started dating your future wife, and make sure you're not still in love or have any "special feelings"

84. Go on a camping trip with your prospective bride, one without electricity or water, and in a location where cell phones don't work, then see how well you get along.

154. Think once

155. Think twice

156. Think thrice"

Well, personally I don't see mariage to be that important. So even if I got a stable girl friend and have kids, I still don't think I'll consider marriage until the kids have at least all grown up. (Just to make it clear, there is no way, I am going into a stable relationship, not yet at least. Not ready for that crap, just yet.)

Peter and Amy: Interesting perspective. I too have friends who are every bit as committed to their partners even if they're not married! A piece of paper doesn't define how committed a couple is to each other after all. Of course, there are others who desire marriage.

the camping thing is good advice though, some of my best friends i wouldnt go camping with for fear of killing each other

I love that article! And I'm with Aimzter, I'm betting an extended camping trip without electricity would put an end to ideas of wanting to get married (even though I quite like camping!)
